Who decides about quality. The consumer or the producer? And is it a decision?
We stay out of this quandery by stating once and for all that we are striving for quality like in old times: Hunt for it where it is least expected and be always aware, that it could just have slipped past you in the opposite direction.

Hindemith Übungen for violinists - Anybody knows them?
Well, they have been my daily violinistic bread. I had so much fun with them until I decided to record them. Then things began to get difficult. I actually think, I should now make a playable edition, since you need rather an unusual time to organise yourself round this task. I love them, just watch out for HINDEMITH ÜBUNGEN FÜR GEIGER!
Nein (meine persönliche Einschätzung)
Aber, die Frage wurde mir gestellt, deshalb wird Sie hier beantwortet: Max Reger hat eine ganz eigene Art wie er die Werke seiner Umgebung rezipierte: einbauen, kopieren, umformen. Das erinnert an eine gehobene Unterhaltung zweier Genies, jeder Gedanke schon den nächsten des Gesprächspartners überholend, aber eben immer im Bezug zum Umfeld.
Also war Max Reger vor allem eines nicht: Revolutionär, denn er brauchte sein Umfeld.
War er deshalb ein Epigone?
